About

This purpose of this blog is to document the thoughts and adventures of the 20+ Community’s annual mission trip to Chiba, Japan.

We are a community of singles from Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX.  Each year we send a team to minister to university students through the IMPACT college ministry, which is run by the local Japanese churches along with MTW missionaries.

As Americans, we have unique opportunities to serve in Japan.  Our very presence is somewhat of a novelty, as many Japanese people are fascinated by western culture and are eager to practice their English with native speakers.  One of the things we do is host “Texas Parties” as a fun way of getting to know the students and introducing them to the IMPACT ministry.

The scripture we’ve chosen to focus on for this trip is Luke 15, the stories of people that are lost yet sought out individually and joyfully by God, even when it goes against the culture to do so. The Japanese people can relate very well with these stories and can start to understand the love of the Lord through these truths.

Thank you for visiting our page! Please consider praying for our team, for the community of believers in Japan, and for the nation of Japan as a whole.  Specifically we ask for prayer: for our preparations as a team (cohesion doesn’t come naturally), for “divine appointments” with students who wish to have a closer look at this Jesus fellow, and that we might genuinely serve the long-term missionaries there.

Of the divine mysteries, prayer’s place in the working out of God’s plans sits near the top of the list.  We would not be so foolish to think, therefore, that anything lasting would come of efforts not saturated in prayer.  Above all, we ask for your persistent prayer.
